TomorrowFest announces the launch of its inaugural 2026 festival program, a new student-led media and arts festival celebrating the creatives of tomorrow, today.

Created and produced by passionate RMIT students, the festival brings together film screenings, multimedia works, installations and live events celebrating emerging creatives and the future of contemporary media.

OPENING NIGHT

TomorrowFest opens on Tuesday 2 June at ACMI with a curated screening event featuring a selection of standout works from students across 13 RMIT media studios.

The opening night showcases a mix of film, multimedia and experimental works, highlighting the range of creative projects currently being produced by emerging filmmakers and artists at RMIT.

Following the ACMI screening, the festival continues with an official afterparty at Miscellania.

RMIT FESTIVAL HUB

From 3–4 June, TomorrowFest moves into the RMIT Festival HUB, turning the space into a festival hangout filled with screenings, exhibitions, installations and live creative events.

The HUB will give audiences the chance to experience student work up close, meet the creatives behind the projects and connect with Melbourne’s emerging media community.

Across the two-day program, visitors can explore film, photography, sound, design and multimedia works created by RMIT students, alongside interactive experiences, showcases and collaborative events.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Created entirely by RMIT Media students, TomorrowFest is all about giving emerging creatives a space to share their work, meet other artists and connect with audiences.

The festival brings together the next generation of filmmakers, multimedia artists and storytellers, creating a space where students can showcase projects, collaborate and celebrate Melbourne’s creative community.

MISSION STATEMENT

To curate and celebrate young creatives’ work and connect them to community. TomorrowFest is brought to you by the new and young creatives of the media industry. We strive to uplift other young creatives, building a place to connect them with the wider community, a place for them to show off their diverse collections of talents and works, and a place to celebrate their work. We’ve built a space for you to see the creatives of tomorrow, today.
