La Bohème remains a powerful story over a century after its premiere, inspiring artists like Pavarotti and Baz Luhrmann. In 2026, a new generation of Australian creatives will present a world premiere, set in snowy Paris, highlighting themes of friendship, love, and heartbreak. Performances are slated for November 7-18 at the Regent Theatre, Melbourne.

Sophia Lima, a bilingual Brazilian/American singer-songwriter, is gaining attention for her unique blend of soulful vocals and poetic lyricism. Her single “i’m still here” is trending on TikTok, and her upcoming concept album promises an immersive experience. Sophia’s authenticity and personal storytelling resonate strongly with her growing fanbase.

This Saturday, the Paperbark Zine Fair will showcase nearly forty independent zine makers in South Brisbane, celebrating self-published art across various genres. Organiser Andy Paine emphasizes zines as a platform for unheard voices, promoting DIY creativity. The event, featuring the Sticky Institute, runs from 12-5pm and is free to attend.
