Melbourne Queer Film Festival
MQFF’s annual short film funding competition returns, inviting filmmakers to submit their proposals for a chance to win $10,000 in project funding.
Now in its eighth year, Pitch, Pleez! provides Australian LGBTQIA+ filmmakers the opportunity to create original content by assisting the production of a short fiction, documentary or web series pilot.
The winning pitch will receive:
- $10,000 cash prize to help fund the project
- All-In-Pass to the 2026 Melbourne Queer Film Festival
Furthermore, the winning Pitch, Pleez! project may premiere at the festival’s Opening Night event in November 2026. Applications are officially open and close on Sunday 26 April 2026. What are you waiting for? Submit your proposal for a chance to see your story come to life on the big screen!
