Get ready to celebrate vibrant cultural communities at Multicultural Fiesta 2026 presented by Hunter Multicultural Communities Inc. & Multicultural NSW

Join us at Waratah Community Reserve (Hunter Multicultural Community Inc. – 2A Platt Street) on Saturday 18th of April from 10am – 3pm for a fun-filled day for the whole family.

HMC Multicultural Fiesta is completely free for the community and packed with live entertainment, cultural performances, international food stalls, family-friendly activities, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

Kids will love the free kids zone featuring a petting zoo (featuring piglets, kid goats, lambs, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, chicks, ducks, and ducklings), jumping castle, and face painting, making this the perfect day out for all ages!

As part of Newcastle Food Month, food lovers will have the chance to taste their way around the world with a mouthwatering lineup of international cuisines.

Savour a world of flavours with more than 12 vendors serving up authentic dishes that reflect their rich cultural heritage, including Ghanaian, Latin American, Lebanese, Nepalese, Syrian, Egyptian, Islander, Tibetan, Turkish, and Vietnamese, with plenty more to discover.

Beyond the food, enjoy freshly brewed coffee, soft serve ice cream and slushies, browse a vibrant mix of cultural market stalls, and connect with a range of multicultural organisations, as well as supporting local government and council representatives.

NON-STOP MULTICULTURAL PERFORMANCES AND WORKHOPS 

We have a show-stopping schedule of cultural performers to keep attendees engaged with SambaFrog’s Brazilian percussion, join in the fun at Drums in the Park Newcastle’s interactive drum circle, and be mesmerised by the graceful moves of Elevate Irish Dance Academy. Experience traditional and contemporary performances from the Newcastle Nepali Church, Roots & Rhythms of Bangladesh Inc, Scupriri Sydney Sicilian, Ukrainian Central School in Sydney, and Polish Song & Dance Ensemble Rzeszowiacy. See a stunning Nigerian Community of Newcastle fashion parade, take part in Common Ground Multicultural Dance Group’s EtnoZumba quiz, and try a lively Newcastle Flamenco Dance workshop.
